Epic and Ikon: what actually differs
They are two rival companies, not two tiers of the same thing. Epic is Vail Resorts; Ikon is Alterra. Their mountains barely overlap, so the right pass is usually decided by where you are going, not by which brand you like.

Where the numbers come from
Every coverage rule — day caps, blackout dates, shared pools, which mountains a tier actually includes — is read by hand from the operator's own terms, then re-checked against their site every month. Day-ticket prices carry their source and the date that source published them; hover any price to see both.
Please note: 26/27 day-ticket prices are not published yet. Almost every price here is last season's, marked est. and dated, and it updates automatically once operators post the new ones. Nobody can tell you next winter's exact prices today — we would rather show you where a number came from than pretend otherwise.
